Testimonials
"One of my favorite moments was realizing first hand that there are many channels of communication. Yes, for some, there was a language barrier with English and Spanish. Yet, we were all able to still communicate in a meaningful way to some extent. Hand gestures, a smile, kind actions, music. All universal ways of communicating that transcend the English-Spanish barrier."
Jon Isca, AIDE Volunteer, Alternative Spring Break in Costa Rica.

Sample Volunteer projects
Working with Children in Schools
Public schools in this area are lacking in educational resources and space for the students to play and be creative. Volunteers will undertake a variety of projects with a local elementary school such as teaching English, painting the school exterior or a classroom, art activities, arranging soccer games with the children, etc.
Sea Turtle Conservation
The goal of the conservation center is to ensure that endangered sea turtles are protected from their predators. Even though the turtles will not be nesting in March, there is still much to be done. AIDE volunteers will help prepare the new nursery as well as undertake beach clean-ups to ensure the surrounding areas are ready for the nesting season.
